Book Buddies Program

WAYNE COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY

Do you know someone in Wayne County who loves to read but cannot physically come to the library because of age, illness or disability? The Book Buddies Program may be just what you are looking for. Patrons are paired with a volunteer who will visit once a month and bring books, cassettes or cds. Background checks are required on all volunteers. For more information, contact Gail Askins at 731-1050 or gail.askins"at"waynegov.com.

United Methodist Men will meet May 27 at the Methodist Men’s Ministry Center located at 676 Community Drive in the Rosewood Community. From Highway 70, turn south onto Highway 581. Go a short distance and turn right onto Community Drive. The center is less than 1/2 mile on the left. The meeting will be at 8 AM. A light breakfast will be served.

Our guest speaker will be Joe Kosuda, a member of St. Paul UMC and UMM. Joe is a K-9 officer and he and his working dog will give us a close look at the dog’s ability. Please call the office at 734-2965 with your reservations no later than Thursday, May 24 at 5 PM. Sons, daughters, family and friends are invited.

Support the St. Paul Youth and honor/remember those special men in your life by donating $1 per name to be printed in our special Father’s Day Bulletin Insert. Envelopes are available in the church office. All proceeds go to support the youth of St. Paul UMC! The deadline is Sunday, June 12.

REMINDER:

Labor Day Weekend.

Prayer Shawls

Our mission is to provide hope, comfort and healing to those who most need a reminder of God’s love for them through the work of our hands and the prayers of our hearts.

If you are in need of a prayer shawl for yourself or any other member of our church family, request forms are available at the Welcome Center. Completed forms should be turned in to the church office.

Parents of teens!

Do You Ever Wonder?

Do you ever wonder if your teen makes it to UMYF on Sunday nights? Or did they go somewhere else? Now you can know for sure through our new check in and out system. Youth now log in and log out with an online computer which time stamps when they come and go. We can also see plainly who is coming and who’s not coming. Just one more way we are trying to keep in touch with our youth group.

Can U meet the challenge?

The Cross Trainers Sunday School class would like to challenge each Sunday school class at St. Paul to come up with a great item or basket for the upcoming dinner auction. Our class is excited to offer up an international progressive dinner for 8! Enjoy appetizers in Mexico, dinner in Italy and desserts in France all right here in Wayne County! We can't wait to see all the great items that will be a part of the auction and do not forget to invite your friends and neighbors!

Drinks, Snacks

Looking for a drink or a snack at church? We have a snack and drink machine in the Youth Suite to fill your belly! All the money earned from these machines goes to the Youth Fund.

Calling all women!

Pastor Appreciation

October may have been Pastor Appreciation Month, but we can always remember our pastors with thanks, pats on the back, words of encouragement, food, cards, and most of all, your prayers. They need to know we love and pray for them, also!

Senior Companion Program

St. Paul has been a supporter of the Senior Companion program for a long time. We currently have two workers that we support. The Senior companion worker is available to come into the home of someone who needs companionship and a little help with things in their home. Currently we have one member of the church who utilizes a senior companion for part of the day, one day a week. If you know of any church member who could benefit from this program, please contact Scottie Weathers, St. Paul Senior Companion Coordinator at 734-3055.  This program can be a big benefit for caregivers and offer one more resource for those who need extra help.

Join us for Prayer Group on Wednesday morning!

We meet at 10 AM, and we have permanently moved to the J. Paul Edwards classroom in the administrative building.

Join the Audio-Visual Team!

We need additional people to join an amazing group of people who work behind the scenes to make sure our worship services and events are seen and heard! If you have A/V experience, great; if not, don’t worry. We will teach you all you need to know. It’s easy and you may only need to help out once a month. We have two major venues: the Fellowship Hall working with Contemporary Worship and the Sanctuary working with Traditional Worship. We have needs in both areas, plus we need additional help to edit the TV broadcast. Contact Bill Gaines or Brian Gurley for more information.

Honor someone you love in a special way!  For a donation of $100, the television broadcast of the worship service can be given in honor or memory of your loved one. Contact the church office with your request. Your gift will be announced during the church service and your loved one will be notified of the donation.

The St. Paul Bus- don't forget to reserve!

Please remember to contact the church office to reserve the St. Paul Church Bus. Reservations are taken on a first come basis. When you

make your reservation, you must also give the name of your driver
