As Senior Minister, Rev. Harry’s primary roles are: Preaching & Teaching; Casting a vision for the congregation; and Developing key lay leaders to serve the church effectively.
Rev. James H. Harry, “Rev. Jim,” grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania. He attended Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, he taught elementary school in Hillsborough, North Carolina before answering the call to ministry.
Rev. Jim graduated from Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina earning his Master of Divinity degree in 1994. He served three congregations before his appointment to Saint Paul. Rev. Jim also served as House Chaplain for the North Carolina General Assembly House of Representatives from 1997-2009.
Rev. Jim has served as the Senior Minister at Saint Paul since 2009. He is an ordained Elder in the North Carolina Conference of the Global Methodist Church. Rev. Jim is married to Robin, and together they have four children and three grandchildren. He enjoys reading crime novels and mystery thrillers and is an avid bicyclist.
