One scholarship is awarded annually to a female student who requests financial assistance and who:
- Can show active acceptance in a medical, social science, Christian church-related, or teaching program
- Has a minimum 2.5 GPA in college (applicant is responsible for requesting a current official transcript from her college to be sent directly to the chair of the Scholarship Committee: Anne Paugh, President of the Saint Paul Methodist Women, Saint Paul Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530)
- Can show active participation in activities of a church
- Demonstrates commitment to her chosen profession and faith
The applicant shall submit a personal letter of introduction with the application. In addition, letters are required from the Dean or Advisor of the program of acceptance and her current church pastor or a church member (non-family member) who can attest to the applicant’s membership and service.
A completed application will include:
- Letter of introduction
- Scholarship Application form
- Official Transcript
- Letter of recommendation from Dean/Advisor
- Letter of recommendation from pastor or church member
Application packet must be received by the Chairperson of the Saint Paul Methodist Women’s Scholarship Committee no later than May 15th in order to be considered. Please include all of the above in one packet (except the school transcript).
Additional information:
- If continuing in the same program, applicants can re-apply for a second year. A new completed application packet will be required, including a new/current official transcript.
- The Saint Paul Methodist Women’s Executive Board will make the final selection of the recipient.
- The Saint Paul Methodist Women’s Treasurer will pay the scholarship award directly to the designated college.
- No application will be considered until all requirements are met
